Paying athletes to play should be legal they put too much time into it not to get paid. So while the coaches get paid more than the President of the United States does players sit back and have to be content with the sweat off their back as payment. They create so much of the revenue, so why shouldn’t they receive money from deals such as this. Head football coach at the University of South Carolina Steve Spurrier even provided his explanation for why college athletes should be paid. He said “Twenty years ago, fifty years ago, athletes got full scholarships. College athletes should be paid! College athletes are often considered to be some of the luckiest students in the world. Most of them receiving all inclusive scholarships that cover all the costs of their education.
